Sangpi
Sangpi, the precursor to the Japanese paper Washi, is here presented with a new face. Created by gluing and arranging cut pieces side by side, Sangpi produces abstract, transparent artworks. With its irregular combinations and overlaps, the collection moves beyond any fixed patterns, creating reliefs or generating light effects. Sangpi's wall panoramas immerse us in the world of canvas painting, where large, spontaneous paintings leave a strong impression. They are sketches that reveal ideas and emotions – creative gestures captured in the artist's studio.
The Sangpi collection translates the Art Paper wall coverings onto vinyl. The paper appearance, crafted with incredible precision, almost allows you to feel the smoothness of the material. The original paintings, produced at a scale of 1:1 or 1:0.75, replicate the accuracy of the brushstrokes and the interplay of colors, resulting in a piece where the artist's work is tangibly present.
