Moy (The Argory) c.1875
Little is known about this small format print, which was found in the Northern Irish estate of The Argory. The surviving fragment is estimated to be from the late 19th century and was printed in diluted watercolor rather than a conventional bold ink or even opaque colour. This slightly broken effect, combined with the shading effect within the loose geometric pattern, gives the design a life that would be difficult to achieve straight from the drawing board.
